Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in Newport Beach

Come one, come all!  It’s time to eat, drink, and be Irish! Your St. Paddy’s Day this year deserves the ultimate o’ celebrations, Newport Beach style. With a whole pot of pubs at your choosing, you might have to opt for a game plan to try each of our favorites. Just don’t forget your novelty green tee, lest ye be pinched by a strange lad or lass!

St. Patrick's Day at Muldoon'sMuldoon’s Irish Pub

It’s no Paddy’s Day in OC worth mentioning without Muldoon’s. Being one of the biggest shindigs around, Muldoon’s 43rd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Bash is worth the pit stop. No need to expect cover charge or make a reservation for these festivities. At the ripe hour of 9 AM Muldoon’s will open their doors for guests to enjoy two live bands along with dancing should you feel so inspired to let out a jig, along with Irish specialty dishes being served all day long like Corned Beef Sandwiches at their Bulldog Cafe. How did we get so lucky?

“There are no strangers. Only friends you haven’t met yet.” Malarky’s has got yours and your new friends’ St. Patrick’s Day covered from 6:30 AM all the way into the wee hours of 2 AM, so prepare your bellies (and livers, ye green beer drinkers.) Brimming with Irish hospitality, the pub’s 40 year tradition lives strong with themed beverages and bites like Irish Tacos all to the sweet tunes of actual live bagpipes. Plus, should you be clean out of green attire, they’re carrying celebratory tees and hats to commemorate your inner-Irish-ness.

Shamrock Bar & GrillShamrock Bar & Grill

The name is the game, so need we say more for a place like Shamrock for St. Paddy’s? The watering hole, situated conveniently on PCH, is home to your favorite Irish beer and Irish drink-slingers! Guinness? Check. Irish Coffee? Check. How about good ol’ Irish whiskeys? You betcha’. You don’t need anything more. Unpretentious with the right amount of authentic Irish atmosphere, Shamrock is a great spot for a midday beer break and a more mellow vibe without deviating from the holiday buzz.
