Venture over the bridge onto Balboa Island and you’ll uncover a quaint, coastal gem – a Newport Beach neighborhood full of life! You’ll quickly acclimate to laid back, island life and settle into the small island situated on Newport Harbor. It won’t take long before you’re wishing that this wonderful piece of land were a place that you could call home. Storefronts line Marine Avenue, the haven of Balboa Island, and include a variety of boutique shops, coffee shops, restaurants and local treasures. The sidewalks that follow along the perimeter of the Island provide a front row, dreamlike visual of the Harbor and all of the activities available to visitors. Beyond the nautical storefront designs and the bustle on a typical day on Marine Avenue, Balboa Island is home to a variety of dishes bursting with flavor and an extraordinary line-up of restaurants that are a true representation of the “island life”.
Blue Chair Bakery is identifiable by their black and white striped storefront and cheerful red door. A variety of pastries line their front window – one quick glance and you’ll be tempted into a taste…or two. Blue Chair Bakery specializes in breakfast pastries, bread, and desserts – all made from scratch everyday. If you’re in search of something sweet, try their Cinnamon Rolls or Pecan Sticky Buns.
